Finalmente l’AGP Tour

Era ora! Il popolo dei quakers aspettava questo momento da qualche anno: l’AGP Tour 2009 è stato lanciato oggi, come recita il titolo ed il comunicato stampa in fondo riportato.
Si tratta nientemeno che di una competizione che si propone di rilanciare gli FPS da duello (quali Quake) nei tornei più prestigiosi. Con questo tour, l’Association of Gaming Professionals non vuole far altro che dare un segnale forte alla community. Quake Live è il gioco giusto per rilanciare gli FPS 1v1? A mio avviso, sì. Speriamo solo che questo tentativo serva davvero a qualcosa, perchè finora i montepremi dedicati al nuovo capitolo della serie Quake sono scarsi, e non siamo ai tempi in cui s’investiva solamente in un torneo di Quake 3. Non bisogna far altro che sperare. Ed iscriversi, a patto di pagare la quota d’iscrizione di circa 30 $: un vero controsenso per un tour che vuole rilanciare qualcosa di un po’ spento, no?

Miami, FL.-September 28, 2009 - VIDA LLC announced today the launching of the first ever international players association in professional gaming and in Quake Live, the AGP (Association of Gaming Professionals). Introducing the AGP

• Tournament Sponsorships – Beginning in October, the AGP will be sponsoring 24 online tournaments in 2009, 12 in Europe and 12 in North America. Game modes include Duel, Capture the Flag, and Clan Arena.
• The AGP Rankings – The AGP Rankings are an international ranking point system that presents a united way for players to always have accurate seedings for tournaments around the world.
